An interactive science journal is a tool that allows students to take information from their available resources, such as the teacher and integrate it with their own experiences, goals, thoughts and learning styles as they reflect on their own learning.
Create a Title Page
Open your science journal to the very first page. Create a Title Page that includes:
- Add one or more academic goal(s) such as a desired grade.
- Add one or more behavioral goal(s) such as no lunch detentions or referrals.

Rules for your journal:
Grading
- Science journals will be a major (high-level) grade two times each marking period (quarter).
- You must have a completed RIGHT and LEFT side before you can earn ANY points.
Each left side completed = 1-6 points.

Each right side completed = 1 point.

You will be required to earn a minimum number of points during each marking period to earn 100%. This stamp "goal" will be a number that continuously increases during each marking period depending on the activities we complete in class.
- You can redo as many pages as you wish to earn additional points.
- You can always earn additional points on as many pages as you wish for extra-credit!
How Points/Stamps Will Be Awarded:Points/stamps will be awarded using a system called Bloom's taxonomy. This system is used to help each student achieve higher levels of thinking.
