Netiquette is short for "Internet etiquette."
Just like etiquette is polite behavior in society, netiquette is polite behavior on the Internet. This includes several aspects of the Internet, such as email, social media, online chat, web forums, website comments, and other types of online communication. If you post offensive remarks online you will have to answer for the comments you made. Good netiquette benefits both you and others on the Internet. Posting a positive comment rather than a negative one just might make someone's day. |
Digital Citizenship WebQuest
Do you use social media? Go online? How much time do you honestly spend on your phone on an average day? According to a report by Common Sense Media (2019), teens spend an average of 7 hours and 22 minutes on their phones a day, and tweens -- ages 8 to 12 -- are not far behind, at 4 hours and 44 minutes daily. Even if this doesn’t sound like you we are all digital citizens any time we go online or use technology.
