Adaptations

How can we construct explanations for how biological adaptations and genetic variations of traits in a population enhance the probability of survival in a particular environment?
IntroductionAll species need to adapt to their habitat to be able to survive. Most living organisms are very well adapted to their current environments. This means that the way they look, the way they behave, how they are built, or their way of life makes them suited to survive and reproduce in their habitats. For example, giraffes have very long necks so that they can eat tall vegetation, which other animals cannot reach. How does this occur?
