- Complete the rock cycle Gizmo using the student exploration sheet and play the role of a piece of rock moving through the rock cycle. Select a starting location and follow many possible paths throughout the cycle. Learn how rocks are formed, weathered, eroded, and reformed as they move from Earth's surface to locations deep within the crust.

- Believe it or not, many models of the rock cycle you can find on the internet are not extremely accurate. Research and attach an image of a typical rock cycle model you can find on the internet (20 points). Study the rock cycle model carefully and accurately explain 3 or more specific details about this model that make it correct using specific details from the content of this module about each rock type (60 points). Then, analyze the diagram more carefully and accurately identify at least 1 specific detail about the model you chose that is inaccurate in terms of how rocks undergo changes in the rock cycle (20 points) using this assignment TEMPLATE.

- Create an story demonstrating the exciting life of a rock! Use the storyboard creator to create a story demonstrating how rocks can become other types of rock. Be sure your storyboard accurately includes each of the processes necessary to become an igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock during its lifetime. Use this assignment TEMPLATE to help guide you.
- Create your own rock cycle model. Be sure to include all 3 rock types and all of the processes necessary in order to create each rock type using what you learned from the content resources provided during this module. You may not use an existing model from the internet.

- Rocks are used form building and construction based on their properties. What are some common building materials and what are their specific properties that make them useful for construction?
- When slow cooling magma is ejected before it has completely cools, the resulting igneous rock will have a mixture of macroscopic and microscopic mineral crystals (porphyritic texture: both intrusive and extrusive features). What are some real-world examples of these igneous rocks and what do they look like?
